Here is what you'll need:
Filet Mignon with bacon wrapped around it
Olive Oil
Butter
Metal pan (that can go into the Oven)
Side items you want to serve with the meat
You will want to pat off any access moisture from the meat with paper towels. Set your pan on the stove while the Oven is preheating at 350 or 375 (depends on your level of doneness in the steak). Pour a thin layer of oil in the pan and while it's heating up, put a tablespoon of butter in the pan while it is heating up. Once the butter and oil begins to bubble, add your meat (after you have seasoned it with salt and pepper). Sear one side for three minutes. Turn over the steaks and then put in the oven for 15-25 minutes (depends on what level of doneness you want it).
Take the steak out of the oven and put a little bit of butter on top of each filet.
Let the filet rest for a few minutes (to help to redistribute the juices).
You can present your filet mignon like this:
or like this:
I hope you enjoy your meal as much as we did.
It's easier to watch it cook in the oven than try to cook it on top of the stove.
